FLIPS
Ollie-my position for the ollie is like this: my index finger is placed in the middle, but a little bit towards the tail.
My middle finger is placed on the middle of the tip of the tail. Pop your middle finger down and lift your hand up. it should
be one smooth motion. level out in mid-air and land. This takes a lot of practice but after you get it, you can learn a lot
more tricks.
Shove-its-a shove it is where the board spins horizontally. with your back finger, flick it towards you. then land. pretty
easy.
kickflip- i got into the habit of doing a kickflip with my back finger. i wouldnt advise this, although easy to do, you
do not get very much height which will restrain you from kickflipping into grinds and other tricks. i can't really help you
with kickflips but i'll try. the position for a kickflip is this: put your front finger on the front bolts, but have
it hanging off the side of the tech deck towards you. ollie and then tuck in your front finger. make sure that you get your
fingers out of the way of the flipping board. catch the board with your fingers and land.
pressure flip- a pressure flip is like a heelflip backside varial with your back finger only. the position for a pressure
flip is this: have your back finger on the tail with the tip of your finger on the side of the deck that is away from you.
it doesnt matter where your front finger is. put a lot of pressure on your back finger. you might do a shove-it when
you are trying to learn this trick. to fix this, put more pressure and make sure that the board flips and does a
shove-it
GRINDS
50-50- probably one of the easiest grinds. ollie onto your rail, box, ledge, or whatever you are going to grind. land
with both trucks on the object. when you are at the end of the object, put pressure on the back finger. land.
5-0- just like a 50-50 but with only the back truck on the object. ollie (a little higher than a 50-50) and while you
are in the air put pressure on your back finger so your nose is higher than your tail. land on the object with your back truck
only. technically, a 5-0 is a grind on the back truck without the tail touching, but if you find that hard, then dont worry
about it. when you are at the end of the object, just ride off.
Nosegrind- a nosegrind is the exact opposite of a 5-0. ollie up and put more pressure on the nose while in the air so
that your tail is higher than the nose. land with the front truck only on the rail. getting out of a nosegrind is harder than
a 5-0. when you are nearing the end, pop the nose, or just put more pressure on the nose. land.
boardslide- a boardslide is a slide on the part of the deck between the trucks. ollie up and while you are in the air,
turn 90 degrees and land on the rail. to get off, turn your fingers back and land.
noseslide- a slide on the nose. ollie up, turn 90 degrees and land on the nose. to get off, turn your fingers back 90
degrees and land.
tailslide-do the same thing as a noseslide but on the tail.
crooked grind- a crooked grind is a nosegrind with the tail twitched 45 degrees. ollie up and push the nose down, but
turn the tail 45 degrees and land on the front truck. to get out, do the same thing as a nose grind.
salad grind- a salad is the opposite of a crooked: it is a crooked 5-0. ollie up, and put pressure on the tail, but this
time, turn the nose 45 degrees. land on your back truck and ride out of it.
smith- a smith is a 5-0 where the nose sags and is pushed against the rail. ollie up normally and push the nose down.
land on your back truck on the rail and your nose on the side of the rail. to get out, put some pressure on the tail and land.
